The philosophy

Oral health is the foundation of overall health

It’s one sentence, and everything in this practice follows from it — the materials we choose, the protocols we follow, and the way every plan begins.

Dr. Basil in conversation with a patient

The mouth is part of the body

Dr. Basil’s whole-health approach starts with listening and measuring, not rushing to treat.

Dentistry’s old habit was to treat the mouth as a separate department — fix the tooth in front of you, next patient. The science has moved on: chronic oral infection and inflammation are increasingly associated with health concerns well beyond the mouth, and what we place in a mouth stays in a body for decades. A practice can either ignore that or build itself around it. We built around it.

What that means in practice

It means treatment is planned around your long-term health, not just the tooth of the day. Materials are biocompatible and metal-free wherever restoration is needed — tooth-colored fillings, all-ceramic crowns, zirconia implants. Old amalgam leaves teeth only under the SMART protective protocol. Prevention is run as a managed program, because the diseases of the mouth are bacterial and manageable. And the gentlest intervention that genuinely works — ozone over harsher agents, no-prep over drilling, monitoring over rushing — gets the first look, every time.

Seeing the whole picture

Good decisions start with good information. For diagnosis and planning we use 3-D CBCT imaging, which captures the full mouth and jaw in three dimensions rather than a flat film — essential for planning implant and orthodontic cases accurately. We pair it with Diagnocat, an AI platform that reviews our radiographs and CBCT scans to help detect caries, infection, bone loss and other lesions, adding a second, consistent set of eyes to everything we see. The technology doesn’t replace clinical judgment; it sharpens it, so nothing is missed and your plan is built on what’s actually there.

And the smile still matters

Whole-health dentistry isn’t a vow of plainness. As one of a select group of certified Digital Smile Design clinics, we design smiles digitally around each patient’s face — previewed and even worn before anything is permanent. Health is the foundation; the smile is what everyone sees standing on it. You shouldn’t have to choose between them, and here you don’t.

Good to know

Questions about the approach

Is this practice anti-conventional dentistry?

Not at all — it is conventional dentistry, done with deliberate care about materials, protocols and context. Everything here rests on ordinary clinical evidence and the standards of the academies Dr. Basil belongs to.

Will you work alongside my physician?

Gladly, whenever your dental care touches medical territory — medications, conditions, upcoming surgeries. Your health is one project; we’re happy being coordinated members of it.

Does the wellness approach cost more?

The materials are premium, but the philosophy — prevention first, conservative treatment, catching things small — is the least expensive way to run a mouth over a lifetime. Every plan is priced exactly, in writing, before you commit.

I just need a dentist. Is that okay?

Of course. The approach isn’t a membership — it’s simply how we treat everyone who sits in the chair.
